SERVICE MANAGER

Job Type: Full-time
Starting Pay: $60,000 per year Pay Type: Salary + Benefits

Visions Espresso in downtown Seattle are looking for a Service Department Manager to lead our team of experienced Service Technicians, manage key accounts and work closely with the Service Department Coordinator. The new Service Manager will lead an established coffee equipment service department that has been a staple of the Pacific Northwest coffee world for over 30 years.

This position requires high-level personnel management experience, corporate service contract negotiation and extensive knowledge regarding commercial coffee equipment repair. It will be key to encourage skill development in our Techs, lead by example and support complex Technician scheduling. The Service Manager must display grace under pressure, attention to detail and exemplary customer service skills. He or she must also be meticulously organized, have excellent follow-through and handle a wide range of technical and service related inquiries daily.

The ideal candidate will have a background managing a Coffee Equipment Service Department or as a lead Tech for an established company. Some Service Managers from similar fields could be quality candidates, possibly from automotive, plumbing, electrical or construction. Our techs cover Washington State with emergency and scheduled service support along with a full in-house repair schedule.

Requirements

  • Act as primary contact and facilitator for corporate and key accounts, service contract negotiation and

    administrative management. Scheduling is handled via paperless dispatching software (Field Service) and is

    among the areas run by our Service Department Coordinator.

  • Oversee the Parts Manager and Parts Department, ensuring MOQ’s, margins, stock levels and inventory

    management are all run correctly and accurately.

  • Manage all service work performed by reviewing and approving service invoices, “work-done” descriptions

    and in-house bench tests. A focus on coaching technicians as appropriate toward success based on

    company goals will be key.

  • Manage the tech team’s productivity, efficiency, and quality of service. Handling annual reviews and

    seamlessly meshing with our long-term established staff will be critical.

  • Partner with the Sales & Marketing Departments to sell service, preventative maintenance, filtration

    programs, equipment, accessories and schedule installs of new equipment.

  • Grow sales within the Service Department through increased market share, maximized service opportunities

    and furthering equipment vendor (third party dispatch) relationships. Overall sales growth should meet or exceed predetermined goals. Department results will be used to calculate a year-end performance incentive plan.

    The Service Manager position is a salaried full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule, 8am - 5pm, or a similar schedule with varying start and end times depending on department needs.

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Visions Espresso in Seattle is looking to hire a talented Coffee Equipment Field Service Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting, repairing and installing commercial espresso machines, coffee brewers, coffee grinders and water filtration. Mechanical aptitude is required as is the ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team.

Coffee equipment experience is preferred, but candidates with comparable skills from other industries can make great candidates. Plumbing, electrical, HVAC or automotive experience translates well into coffee equipment repair. We offer one on one tech training with our Technicians and Service Manager as well as scheduled manufacturer's training.

Responsibilities include:

Excellent customer service skills with professional demeanor, appearance & positive attitude

Repair and installation of espresso machines, grinders, brewers & water filtration

Driving throughout WA in a company service vehicle

Maintaining company supplied parts inventory

Following the daily service schedule as set by the dispatcher

Communicating effectively with our team to facilitate accurate customer service and billing

Communicating through a paperless dispatching program and cloud based inventory system- computer (smart phone and iPad skills necessary)

This is full-time hourly position. Hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday. Scheduling flexibility is required as occasional daily overtime is needed as business dictates.
